Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Zinfandel from Sbragia is a fruit bomb. It opens with a fragrant Dr. Pepper bouquet with hints of vanilla oak, clove and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, juicy, a little racy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is boysenberry with notes of oak and black cherry. We also detected hints of coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and mild tannins are velvety and fade away nicely. The panel suggested pairing this Zin with braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Gino's Zinfandel is a blend of three family vineyards in Sonoma County - Italo's, Gino's and La Promessa Vineyards. The selection of Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah represents a traditional blend my Father, Gino, made each year. The 2012 vintage is full of lush ripe red fruit. It has a core of sweet red currant and strawberry. Good acidity and a bright finish make this a great match for many foods.
