Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Carmenère from Santa Rita opens with black cherry bouquet with hints of black olive and mild fruit punch. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, supple, and fresh. The flavor profile is a friendly black olive and mild black raspberry blend with notes of oolong tea, and light oak. We also detected some hints of RC Cola, cherry, and graphite. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty mild tannins stick around for a little bit. The Panel would pair this Carmenère with steak fajitas or with blackened salmon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Floresta Carmenere is a purple wine with an intense hue and good depth. It is a long and fresh concentrated wine. On the nose, fresh fruit dominates, such as blueberries, blackberries, and oral notes of violet. This is a wine of a different aromatic complexity with mineral touches and so spicy notes. The palate is fresh and dominated by fruit. The mid-palate is broad, and the juicy sensation runs to the finish full of fruit and pencil lead. This is a different take on Carmenere one that is easy to drink.
