Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah based blend from Santa Rita opens with a mild blackberry and oak bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a blackberry and mulberry blend with notes of red licorice and red plum. I also detected hints of thyme, mushroom, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and polished tannins are nicely sustained. The Tasting Panel would pair this Petite Sirah with a butterflied leg of lamb. Enjoy – Ken
