Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Rita opens with a black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of new leather and red licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, clean, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black currant and dark chocolate blend with notes of cedar and black cherry. We also detected hints of black licorice, oolong tea, graphite, and wild strawberry. The finish is dry, and its well-managed fine tannins stick around for a very long time. We would pair this mature Cab with a filet mignon or beef wellington. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: He adds that the wine has a deep and intense ruby-red color and pure aromas of black currants, ripe cherries, and graphite, with light notes of cedar. The palate is concentrated and precise with firm, round tannins that form the backbone and persistence of this wine.
