Wine Review: It is hard to find a very good Pinot Noir for under $20. This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored offering from Santa Barbara is just that. It opens with a black plum bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a red plum and oak blend with notes of minerality. I also detected a hint of red currant. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Pinot Noir is very food friendly and reasonably priced. I would pair it with a Cuban sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Exhibiting flavors and aromas of black cherry, strawberry, violets and black tea, this wine is the perfect red for light lunches on the patio, lazy afternoons picnicking in the shade or an evening of hors d’oeuvres and aperitifs at the bistro.
