Wine Review: This ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino displays a fragrant and inviting new leather and maraschino cherry bouquet with a hint of blackberry. The flavor profile is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, silky, and delicate. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar influenced stewed red plum with notes of cherry and oolong tea. I also detected some hints of red licorice and cinnamon stick towards the end. The finish is dry and its refined rounded tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Brunello with Italian briciole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby red. Offers up aromas of well-ripened wild berries, blackberry preserves, tobacco leaf, and tanned leather. An expansive, generous palate displays a rich mouthfeel, developing into a lengthy finale marked by fruit liqueur. Pairs perfectly with a wide range of meats, particularly game and boar, and with aged pecorino cheese.
