Wine Review: This opaque and deep red colored Italian blend opens with a blackberry jam and cassis bouquet with hints of oak and black olive. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and slightly acidic. The mouthfeel is very smooth. The flavor profile is juicy blackberry and chalky mineral blend with notes of black tea, oak and cassis. I also detected hints of black olive and black licorice towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. I would pair the wine with Italian bricole. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dense, garnet-flecked ruby. Releases a rich medley of red currant, sweet spice, and pungent underbrush. Warm and rich in the mouth, with expressive tannins and smooth hints of vanilla. Pair with grilled meat or roasts, particularly of game birds and lamb, along with aged cheeses.
