Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Chianti Classico Riserva from San Felice certainly over-delivers. It opens with cigar box and black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and nicely balanced between its acidity and juicy fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty mild cedar influenced cherry with notes of red plum and craisin. The finish is rather dry and its dusty tannins build-up nicely. This Chianti would pair well with many hearty dishes. I would select Italian beef short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Made only from the finest Sangiovese grapes carefully selected from the estate Chianti Classico vineyards, this Reserva represents the perfect blend of the traditional and the modern. It spends some 24 months in oak, with about 20% in small barriques, and one year in the bottle.
