Wine Review: This classy Cabernet Sauvignon made by Bob Pepi is dark ruby colored and it opens with a mild red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant and red licorice blend with nicely integrated oak and notes of vanilla. We also detected hints of dark berries in the background. The finish is dry and its refined tannins build-up for a bit and linger nicely. I would pair this very nice Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This single-vineyard wine immediately impresses with its ruby-scarlet hues. There is good intensity, with exotic bright red fruit that offers hints of raspberries, plums and cherries which might be expected as typical from this part of Oak Knoll in the benchlands of the southern end of the Mayacamas Range. The palate is lively and pleasing, with the structure and weight expected in a top Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is well-balanced and offers notes of Herbs de Provence. The mouthfeel is silky and velvety, and it leads to a lengthy and pleasing finish. Serve at room temperature with red meats, lamb, or assorted cheeses.
