Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from New Zealand opens with a strawberry and mild oak bouquet with notes of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry with hints of black raspberry and faint oak. I also detected hints of black pepper and red plum. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins linger slightly. This Pinot would pair well with beef satay. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Colour: Pale garnet. Aroma: A powerful mix of dark berries with perfumed violets, olive brine, spices, and a tinge of freshly ground coffee. Palate:Full bodied with layers of ripe dark berries, freshly ground spice and black olives combined with a hint salt. The acidity is beautifully balanced with round mouth coating powdered tannin, finishing with savory oak then fresh coffee. Food match: Well matched with barbecued steak.
