Wine Review: Raimund Prum continues to sit under the radar in regard to German wines even though he consistently produces some of the best Rieslings. The Essence, like the name, is a look at the style and quality of wine Raimund Prum is capable of. On the nose, this wine is a bouquet of quince, honeyed dipped stone fruits, and the slightest touch of lemongrass. On the palate, the wine bursts with some ripe tangerines, lilac, baked apples, and pink grapefruit. The finish lacked the acidity necessary to tone down the sweetness, but the wine still didn't stick to the palate, which was nice. Paired with honey-glazed ham or a pineapple chicken, this wine would stand out. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Pale gold in color. Aromatic, with scents of apricot, green apple and white peach. Fresh fruit flavors perfectly balanced by a racy acidity and a fine, mineral character. Enjoy on its own or with a range of light and delicious appetizers, white meat, seafood dishes, perfect with Asian cuisine and all styles of spicy food.
