Wine Review: This medium yellow colored blend from Portugal opens with a floral bouquet with hints of lemon and banana. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with elevated bright acidity. There is a round feel despite the acidity. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced lime zest and green apple blend with hints of honeydew melon and saline in the background. The finish is dry and refreshing. If you are looking for something new to try by the poolside this summer. Chill up a bottle of this good value offering and enjoy! – Ken
Winemaker Notes: High minerality and citrus, grapefruit, slightly smoky, vibrant acidity with a structure that promises good aging in the bottle. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of the Síria and Fonte Cal native grape varieties, from vines planted in purely granite soils with quartz veins, in the Douro River’s hydrographical basin. Excellent with shellfish, fatty fish and cured goat cheeses.
