Wine Review: This almost clear yellow colored Siria and Fonte Cal blend from Portugal opens with a faint lemon and honeysuckle bouquet with hints of saline and wet slate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and pleasantly mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tasty stony minerality and chamomile tea blend with notes of almond and ginger with hints of white pepper and nectarine pit. The finish is dry, brisk and refreshing. This is a very good value white wine. Try is slightly chilled on the beach or by the pool this summer. With food, grilled Chilean seabass or a fish taco would be a good pairing. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Fruity aroma with very elegant and discreet minerality. Berries and spices, fresh, with a fruity lasting finish. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of the Síria and Fonte Cal native grape varieties, from old vines planted in granite and schist soils with quartz veins, in the Douro River's hydrographical basin. Enjoy with appetizers, cheeses, pastas and Mediterranean cuisine.
