Wine Review: This very dark purple colored wine opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a spicy black currant with notes of black raspberry. There are also hints of oak and a dash of black pepper as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with Beef Bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Roth Cabernet Sauvignon is an expression of its Alexander Valley origins. The 2007 vintage has the deep fruit and firm tannins characteristic of this AVA's southern expanses – blackberry, red cherry, plum and cassis, accented by hints of white pepper, cedar and nutmeg that carry over the long elegant finish. While stylistically fruit forward and ready to drink upon release, the 2007 Cabernet will benefit with 3-5 years aging.
