Wine Review: This light strawberry colored Pinot opens with a fragrant strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, slightly acidic, soft, and silky. The flavor profile is a spicy gentle raspberry with notes of strawberry licorice and light red cherry. The finish is dry and its slightly tingly tannins are a bit subtle. I would pair this Pinot with bacon wrapped shrimp. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fruit for the Rossi Wallace Pinot Noir was carefully sourced with the intent of producing a bright and sophisticated style; a wine with balance and purity of varietal character to showcase the Pinot Noir charm. We wanted a wine to truly express the variety in its most exciting character which for us is typified by violets, earthiness and a fine cherry center. This wine, from the Antinori Vineyard is so bright with cherry and violet fruit that one would think it would be a Sauvigny Les Beaune. With its light color, you might be surprised to find the aromas are so forth-coming. The grapes, in true Burgundian-like fashion, bring out flavors that are juicy and soft, yet so rich that it brings a smile instantly.
