Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Rombauer opens with a pleasant mild white grapefruit and Anjou pear bouquet. We also detected hints of white pepper and fresh cut grass clippings. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a mild white grapefruit and lime blend with notes of white pepper and gentle minerality. We also detected hints of green apple. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Sauvignon Blanc with a grilled haddock packet or cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is brilliant pale yellow with a bright green hue. It exudes aromas of lime, mango, grapefruit and white peach with a hint of fresh-cut grass. The palate is fresh and enticing, as grapefruit, pineapple and passion fruit intertwine with key lime, making the mouth water. Balanced yet lively acidity lingers on the palate inviting another taste. The finish gives the wine length and vibrant freshness. Pair with oysters on the half-shell with mignonette sauce.
