Wine Review: This bright light straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from Rombauer opens with mild grapefruit bouquet with hints of lime and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium to full-bodied which is bigger than most Sauvignon Blancs. I also found it to be slightly acidic and a bit lively. The flavor profile is a tasty mild grapefruit with notes of minerality and a hint of tangerine and lime. The finish is dry and its acidity and fruit flavors linger and last for quite some time. This is an above average Sauvignon Blanc that will be popular with lovers of the grape. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine is brilliant pale yellow with a bright green hue. It exudes aromas of ripe lime, grapefruit, pear and white nectarine with a subtle hint of fresh-cut grass. The palate is fresh and enticing, as grapefruit, white nectarine and deep tropical notes intertwine making the mouth water. Balanced yet lively acidity lingers on the palate inviting another taste. Boxwood on the finish gives the wine length and vibrant freshness. Pair with oysters on the half-shell with mignonette sauce and rolled sushi.
