Wine Review: This ruby colored Merlot opens with a black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is black currant and oak blend with notes of black cherry and black tea. I also detected some hints of black pepper and stewed black plum. The finish is dry and its flavors and tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. I would pair this bold styled Merlot with a juicy mushroom and Swiss cheeseburger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2021 Sonoma County Merlot is lush with notes of blackberry, fig compote and cassis. Medium bodied with soft tannins, this wine boasts toasty oak and spice on the mid-palate punctuated by a full and lively finish. These luscious dark fruit and toasty flavors are enhanced by aging in French oak barrels. Enjoy this soft and elegant Merlot with grilled pork chops and cherry reduction, lavender crusted lamb shanks or creamy polenta with a short rib ragu.
