Wine Review: This clear, deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong opens with a fragrant red Twizzler, red currant, and cedar bouquet with hints of violets, cranberry, and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, juicy, and bright. The flavor profile is red cherry licorice and black currant blend with notes of black tea, loam, and tart cranberry. We also detected hints of cedar, stony minerality, and milk chocolate. The finish is dry and its flavors, managed acidity and tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this food friendly Cab with a steak with caramelized onions or with a blue cheese pub burger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Alexander's Crown exhibits ripe flavors of black currant, blackberries, and violets. The wine is voluptuous, has a rich mouthfeel, soft tannins, and a long lingering finish with notes of dried herbs and a touch of mocha. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for enjoyment in 8 to 10 years.
