Wine Review: This midnight ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong opens with an attractive cinnamon, blackberry, and menthol bouquet with hints of kitchen spice, tomato leaf, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and fresh. The flavor profile is a black currant and stony minerality blend with notes of black cherry. We also detected hints of pomegranate, black tea, and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins re nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with char grilled hanger steak. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Rockaway has wonderful concentrated flavors of dark plum and red currant with notes of tobacco and leather. The earthy minerality of the wine is balanced out by notes of baking spices with a rich, complex structure and a long lingering finish. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for enjoyment in 8 to 10 years.
