Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong opens with a mild black cherry and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, elegant, and juicy. The flavor profile is black plum and stony mineral blend with notes black raspberry and black pepper. I also detected some hints of milk chocolate, black tea and teaberry in the mix. The finish is dry, and its well-managed medium dusty tannins are nicely extended. This Cab is food friendly and ready to go. It paired perfectly with Gnocchi a la Bolognese at Prezza in Boston’s North End. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Alexanders Crown exhibits ripe flavors of black currant, blackberries, and violets. The wine is voluptuous, has a rich mouthfeel, soft tannins, and a long lingering finish with notes of dried herbs and a touch of mocha. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for enjoyment in 8 to 10 years.
