Wine Review: This is a very nice Pinot Noir offering from Rodney Strong. It opens with a hearty ripe red raspberry bouquet that includes notes of cedar, eucalyptus, black pepper, leather and tobacco leaf. Juicy ripe black cherry and cranberry flavors on the palate are balanced with tannins and acidity. I also detected hints of vanilla bean and black pepper. The finish is a dry and some slightly tart cherry and black pepper flavors lingers nicely. This would be a great Pinot Noir to serve to friends and family at your late summer barbecue with a thick and juicy bacon cheddar burger with sauteed mushrooms. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Grown in one of the coolest areas within the Sonoma Coast region, this traditionally made Pinot Noir is a medium bodied wine with aromas of black cherry, pomegranate and a purple floral note. On the palate, delicious plum, cola and cinnamon are balanced by crisp acidity with a smooth and silky finish. Enjoy this wine now with charcuterie, mushroom risotto or grilled salmon or cellar it for enjoyment in 2 to 4 years.
