Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong is very good. It opens with a black cherry, black raspberry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant with notes of nicely integrated minerality. I also detected some ripe plum and a touch of black olive, oak and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate well managed tannins build up nicely and linger. I would pair this very nice Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Rich, lush and structured, the 2013 vintage displays intense aromas flavors of blackberry, black currant, cassis and crushed violet. This wine is velvety with a smooth, lingering finish of toasty baking spices, vanilla and cocoa. Enjoy this wine now with braised short ribs, roasted leg of lamb or roasted root vegetables or lay a few bottles down in your cellar to enjoy in 4 to 6 years.
