Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong opens with an attractive blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, fruit forward and juicy. The flavor profile is initially a mild mineral infused ripe blackberry with notes of oak and black pepper. As the wine develops and opens up, I discovered some caramel, black cherry and blueberry coming into play. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a long while. This wine improved tremendously on day two. So I would recommend decanting it for at least an hour in the near term and then serving it with a ribeye steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Brothers is a deeply rich wine with complex dark fruit flavors. The wine is voluptuous and is bursting with blackberry, plum and wonderful chocolate notes followed by a round and seductive mid-palate and a long lingering finish. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for enjoyment for years to come.
