Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a boysenberry and black cherry bouquet with notes of toasted marshmallow. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is a blueberry and mild minerality blend with notes of red raspberry. I also detected hints of vanilla oak and cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Zin would pair well with Colorado lamb chops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: To drink a glass of St. Peter’s Church is to drink a history lesson in California wine; this vineyard is a viticultural antiquity, and we are truly blessed to make wine from it. Consistently, vintage to vintage this wine smells like sugarplum. In addition, there are consistently lovely notes of raspberry, briary black cherry, cinnamon, sarsaparilla, cedar, cherry vanilla milkshake, boysenberry (my dad’s favorite jam, btw) and freshly cracked pepper.
