Wine Review: This Amarone from Rocca Sveva is full bodied and ink red in color. It has an appealing bouquet of jammy ripe dark berries, oak, spices and prunes. It’s a mature wine and that has aged very well. It displays smooth black cherries, plums, cocoa beans, light leather and managed tannins that are slightly dry on the palate. This wine from Italy has nice layers of structure and fine balance. It finishes smooth and dry and nicely coats your mouth. I would pair this Amarone with rosemary seasoned braised lamb shanks. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Rich ruby with garnet highlights Bouquet: Complex and multi-layered, with aromas of cherry, dried fruit and wild red berries Palate: Notable depth and breadth, well-structured, full tannins, and a delicious long-lingering finish Pairings: Wild game and red meats, as well as aged cheeses. Elegant when sipped by itself. Decant a few hours before serving.
