Wine Review: This slight cloudy and very dark garnet colored blend from Rocca opens with a fragrant cranberry bouquet with hints of vanilla and red cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a pleasant blend of gentle minerality and mild black cherry with notes of black licorice. I also detected some faint hints of oak and plum mixed in. The finish is dry and its tannins build up initially and last for quite a while. I emphasize decanting this wine for 30 minutes in the near term and then serving it with a prime rib. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Vespera: (Latin) Evening, a time to gather with friends and family. Our 2015 Vespera is a classic beauty that exudes warmth and coziness. It was created and blended to be a gorgeously delicious wine without the slightest hint of pretense. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah
