Wine Review: This opaque and pitch black colored Napa Cabernet opens with a fragrant black currant and blackberry bouquet with a hint anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a mild black currant with notes of integrated mild oak and gentle minerality. I also detected some anise and blackberry. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this wine with a Grill 23 filet mignon with honeyed red beets. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2009 Collinetta Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the 4th vintage we've bottled from this site, and it's the most complete illustration yet of the intrinsic characteristics of this very special vineyard: Deep, dense color, aromas and flavors with a pronounced emphasis on ripe black fruits; finely sculpted, sophisticated tannins and an inherent personality of subtle, stylish elegance and refinement.
