Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Riesling opens with a fragrant matchstick and gentle ginger bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and fresh. The flavor profile is a mild grapefruit and crushed stone minerality blend with notes of lemon-lime and saline. We also detected some hints of chamomile tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are nicely prolonged. We would pair this Riesling with trout in Riesling sauce. Enjoy – Ken & Joe
Winemaker Notes: The Robert Weil line of estate wines begins with this medium-bodied dry Riesling that shows the typical density and power of the Rheingau region but is more affordable than the ultra-classy single-vineyard wines. The Riesling Trocken is pure and intense, with a stony richness and a lively, well-balanced structure.
