Wine Review: This very pale straw colored “Trocken” styled Riesling from Robert Weil is very good. It opens with a very restrained Bosc pear and wet stone bouquet with faint hints of pineapple and lemon. When poured it displays 100’s of tiny bubbles that dissipate quickly. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced and fresh. The flavor profile is a gentle lime and green apple blend with notes of delicate minerality. We also detected hints of grapefruit towards the end. The finish is dry and pleasant. The Panel suggested that this Riesling would be a very nice quaffer to enjoy at the beach on a hot day. With food they thought it would pair nicely with broiled scallops or a seafood casserole. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Robert Weil line of estate wines begins with this medium-bodied dry Riesling that shows the typical density and power of the Rheingau region, but is more affordable than the ultra-classy single-vineyard wines. The 2015 Riesling Trocken is pure and intense, with a stony richness and a lively, well-balanced structure.
