Wine Review: This light yellow colored Reserve level Chardonnay from Mondavi is Excellent. It opens with ripe pear bouquet with hints of light oak, pineapple and banana. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, round and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a delicious ripe Bartlett pear with notes of nicely integrated oak, faint minerality with a touch of lemon and green apple. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This terrific Chardonnay is more Burgundian as opposed to California in style. It will be a crowd pleaser and will not last very long. I would serve it with Chicken St. Timothy. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A wine showcasing both the finesse and richness of Napa Valley's top Chardonnays, our 2013 Reserve provides toasted brioche, roasted pears, and a core of Gravenstein apple fruit with lemon curd and spice on a richly textured palate with balancing, refreshing acidity and a luxuriously long finish.
