Wine Review: This dark violet colored Cabernet Sauvignon based red blend from Robert Foley opens with a black cherry and tobacco leaf bouquet with hints of black currant, wet stone, violets, and licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, lush, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black cherry and currant blend with notes of graphite and oak. We also detected hints of tobacco, black licorice, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its well-managed dusty fine tannins build-up and are nicely sustained. We would drink this wine on its own in a hot tub! With food, we would pair this impressive red blend with a porterhouse steak. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our first bottling of Robert Foley Vineyards Claret was the 1998 vintage and we are celebrating 20 years of this wine with a return to the original blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. This blend is opulently ripe with cassis and black currant aromas, round and rich on the palate. This is a truly seamless and perfectly balanced mouthful of deliciousness. We have also labeled this Anniversary blend with a commemorative label reminiscent of the original Foley Family Crest and Coat of Arms.
