Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Merlot opens with a fragrant ripe boysenberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of clay, dark chocolate, and orange peel. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is initially bright, lively, and very juicy. As the wine opens up with aeration, it smooths out nicely. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry and dark chocolate blend with notes of black cherry and black licorice. We also detected hints of cured meat, minerality, clove and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its flavors and tannins are very nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would decant this youthful Merlot and sip it with friends. With food it would pair perfectly with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy – KWGTP
