Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Robert Foley opens with a cassis, pencil shavings, and cherry wood bouquet with hint of nutmeg and lilacs. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well balanced, smooth, and lush. The flavor profile is a very tasty and complex blend of cassis, crushed stone minerality and black plum with notes of earthiness, and blackberry. We also detected hints of dark chocolate, black licorice, and oak. The finish is dry, and its well-managed fine-grained tannins are sustained for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab based blend with a porterhouse steak and a cigar. Enjoy - KWGTP
