Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot from Napa Valley opens with a fragrant blueberry bouquet with hints of cherry, oak and leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and velvety. The flavor profile is a mineral infused blueberry with notes of oak. We also detected hints of plum and coffee. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. The panel and I agree that Bob Foley is one of the best Merlot producers in the US. His Merlots always seem to finish at the top of the category. We suggested pairing this very good 2013 Merlot with a filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
