Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Robert Biale opens with a boysenberry and violet bouquet with hints of blackberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and very approachable. The flavor profile is tasty blueberry and mocha blend with notes of black cherry and oolong tea. I also detected hints of black plum and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins are extended. I would pair this very approachable Zin with Theresa's meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Party Line celebrates the tradition of Zinfandel when California's wine-growing families and the days when shared phones called "party lines" were common in rural areas. The 2023 displays vibrant aromas of cranberry, raspberry, clove, and white pepper in the glass. Notes of strawberry, Bing cherry, and dried herbs on the palate are punctuated by high tones of pomegranate. Fresh acidity, supple tannins and a long, lingering finish complete the 2023 Party Line Zinfandel.
