Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Robert Biale opens with a black licorice and Dr. Pepper bouquet with hints of blackberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, dense, friendly for a Petite Sirah. The flavor profile is a blackberry and German chocolate cake blend with notes of Dr. Pepper, black licorice and black currant. We also detected hints of oak, Luxardo cherry, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this impressive Petite Sirah with a grilled Tuscan steak and German chocolate cake. The other option is to just drink it on its own by the firepit. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Rich aromatics of black plum, mocha, tobacco leaf, dried fig, and blackberry on the nose. Round and supple on the palate with notes of nutmeg, cassis, clove, and leather on the palate. Elegant, fine-grained tannins frame this wonderfully complex Napa Valley Petite Sirah.
