Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Zin from Biale was a hit with our dinner group. It opens with a fragrant blueberry and boysenberry bouquet. One the palate this wine is fruit forward, rich and balanced. The flavor profile is a delicious extracted black raspberry and boysenberry blend. The finish is dry and its delicious fruit flavors linger for quite some time. I would pair this impressive Zin with veal marsala Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: In 1999 Black Chicken went fully legitimate with the launch of Biale's first bottling. The 2009 with its exquisite expression of Oak Knoll Zinfandel is perhaps our best ever: gushing blackberry fruit, bing cherry, licorice, espresso, dried herb, allspice, turmeric, a little graphite, fleshy ripe tannins and a lasting impression.
