Wine Review: Several of us tried this very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Ridge at our Super Bowl party. We found that it opens with a mild boysenberry bouquet with a hint of prune. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mineral infused plum with notes of smoky oak and olive with a hint of thyme. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins are slightly prolonged. This Zin would be ideal with food. We would pair it with Stuart’s steak treats. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Saturated ruby in color. Plum and black cherry fruit aromas, mint, and gravelly earth. Ripe bramble fruit on entry, balanced acidity, and elegant tannins. Long finish. Pair with holiday duck confit.
