Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Rhys is a big boy Pinot. It opens with a vanilla cola bouquet with hints of black cherry and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a graphite and black cherry blend with notes of oak and black plum. I also detected some hints of muddled mint, oolong tea, and fig. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. This wine needs some time in the cellar. If you cannot wait, then decant it before serving with your favorite duck dish. Enjoy – Ken
