Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Sangiovese from Renzo Masi opens with a fragrant black cherry and plump raisin bouquet with hints of amaretto. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and juicy. The flavor profile is a teaberry, cedar and morello cherry blend with notes of raisin and soy. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. I would pair this Chianti Riserva with a veal saltimbocca. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Made from a blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, and from the best selection of grapes from the Rufina area. Deep ruby red color. Concentrated nose, showing plum and berry character. On the palate full and round, with tannins and a long fruity, peppery finish.
