Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot from Washington State opens with a rustic damp earth and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry and rubber. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, savory and has smooth edges. The flavor profile is a black licorice and oak blend with notes of flinty minerality, and black pepper. There is also a little black cherry throughout. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and tingly acidity lingers for a while. The Panel suggested pairing this Merlot with a skirt steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2012 Merlot has a vibrant dark ruby color and shows off aromas of black currants, Russian olive and loam. Its gentle, soft silky tannins and very judicious use of oak, usher in flavors of cherry, raspberry, currants and plum mingled with earthy notes of graphite, loam and a hint of tar, layered with a delightful touch of cocoa.
