Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Syrah opens with a mild blueberry bouquet with a hint of Acai berry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild cherry-cola with hints of vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its mild tannins fade away nicely. This Syrah is a real quaffer. It is versatile and would pair well with many foods. Matt's gourmet Kobe burgers with caramelized onions, baby Swiss and sautéed mushrooms came to mind. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The nose on this lovely Syrah is absolutely captivating. The glass at first pour explodes of orange creme then settles down by introducing orchid and violet while next, just to stir the senses, throws in a peek of white pepper and sandalwood spices. This aromatic symphony of exotic flower and spice melodically persists begging the question "is it necessary to taste?" At last I do and am mesmerized by the wine's dance of magical balance between its silky texture, fine tannins and beautiful acidity that playfully encompass a cocktail of pomegranate and blueberry cream.
