Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored red blend from Washington opens with pomegranate and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty strawberry licorice and black plum blend with hints of black pepper, oak and blueberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and subtle tannins linger slightly. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with a grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A woman cupping this glass might mistake it for a Ruby ring, worn upside down. I bottled the 2010 SoRho when it was less than a year old to preserve its exuberance and mid-weight palate. The cool 2010 vintage provided lively acidity, with bright and savory fruit making this a perfect pairing for seasoned pork, seared tuna or cedar plank salmon. Aromatic white pepper, herb de provence and sandalwood tickle the nose along with a hint of exotic vanilla. Flavors of pomegranate, cranberry and a background splash of dark cherry, combine to make this a sophisticated, yet refreshing red wine.
