Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Malbec from Washington state opens with a fragrant and attractive blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and savory. The flavor profile is not as fruity as many Malbecs. Instead this version is a mineral infused mild black currant with hints of gentle oak. The finish is dry and it's minerality and oak notes linger slightly. This Malbec would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A Mountain Man's Malbec. Perfect with grilled tender free-range beef. He'll buck a bit at first from start to finish upon a bed of mineral rock and fine-edgy tannins so, just open the gate and let'em breathe the fresh mountain air a spell and he'll settle down to reward you with wild huckleberry, wild blackberry, orchard plum and cassis, on a very thin layer of pepper spice upon a sun bleached, dusty split-rail cedar fence. After a while you'll even catch a whiff of the distantly brewing cowboy coffee.
