Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Riesling from the Finger Lakes opens with a green apple bouquet with hints of white peach and pine needles. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is medium sweet, round and zesty. The flavor profile is a green apple and Anjou pear blend with notes of lime and a touch of pink grapefruit and saline. The finish is medium sweet and linger nicely. This Riesling would pair well with fried calamari. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Circle Riesling is meant to be a quintessential example of Finger Lakes Riesling; a touch of residual sugar to bring out the rich orchard fruit flavors without overwhelming the lemon zest and citrus that make it crisp and refreshing to drink. The overall wine is easy to drink but made with as much seriousness and as many individual layers as any Riesling that Red Newt releases. The philosophy is simple; a crowd-pleasing wine should still be multifaceted.
