Wine Review: This white gold colored Pinot Gris from the Red Newt is very good and a great value. It opens with a wet stone and gentle lemon bouquet with a hint of cantaloupe and mango. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. It is very round and nicely coat’s your mouth. The flavor profile is tasty mild lemon and ginger ale blend with notes of white pepper and pleasant chalky minerality. We also detected hints of white tea and pineapple. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Pinot Gris would pair well with grilled halibut. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Red Newt Cellars "Cream Label" Pinot Gris is a lighter more refreshing than its "Single Vineyard" iteration, this Pinot Gris is more fruit-forward, relaxed, and ready to be sipped on a summer night. A wine that is uncomplicated and joyous for those very occasions.
