Wine Review: This light straw colored Riesling from the Finger Lakes opens with a fragrant lemon and bee's wax bouquet with a hint of petroleum jelly. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is ripe green grape and lime blend with hints of quince jelly and tangerine towards the end. The finish is semi-dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Riesling is food friendly and would pair well bay scallop-marsala cream toasts. Enjoy
Winemaker Notes: Bullhorn Creek Vineyard is on the east side of Seneca Lake less than one mile from Red Newt Cellars. For decades, grape grower Steve Bond has worked with the nuances of weather and soil to produce exceptional fruits on this pristine Hector vineyard land. Delicate honeysuckle in the nose is followed by a dry, perfectly balanced palate with hints of nectarine and quince.
