Wine Review: This ruby colored Merlot opens with a black cherry and smoky oak bouquet with a hint of sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and approachable. The flavor profile is a gentle black plum with notes of coffee and oak. I also detected hints of cocoa powder and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its acidity, fruit and gentle tannins fade away nicely. This very good Merlot is a nice bistro food wine and will be liked by many. I would pair it your favorite juicy burger. Ken
Winemaker Notes: Opening with enticing aromas of roasted coffee, vanilla bean and black cherry, this is a structured and bold Merlot. A plush entry of cocoa, dried red fruit flavors and a touch of spice lead to a savory midpalate. This wine has a good velvety texture with fine-grained tannins and a long, rich finish.
