Wine Review: This dark ruby colored blend from Ravenswood opens with a mild black raspberry and blackberry bouquet. I also detected a whiff of strawberry as well. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and shows beautiful density. Its flavor profile is presented in layers of gorgeous black fruits. Those fruits range from a delicate black raspberry along with notes of blueberry, blackberry, and black cherry. There was also a hint of anise mixed in as well. The finish of this wine is fantastic. It was quite dry and solid, yet its moderate tannins show excellent length. I would pair this terrific blend with a ribeye over the next 2-3 years. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine is very dark and dense. It is fully aromatic with sweet fruit scents of black cherries and plums, accented by hints of toast, vanilla, black pepper, cardamom, and licorice. It is a big, mouth-filling wine, rich in the complexities of black raspberry and baking spices. It has supple, delicious intensity and weight in the long, flavorful finish. Built for the ages, this wine has classic Sonoma mixed black flavors. There is nothing else like it in the world. – Joel Peterson
